Are You Feeling Emotionally Exhausted? Ask Yourself These Questions

Even though there are some general stressors such as natural disasters, violence, and addiction that affect us all, recognizing your unique response to situations can help you best gauge and determine your levels of stress and manage emotional fatigue...

*Am I having difficulty finding things?

*Do I feel bone-tired often?

* Am I  struggling to make simple decisions?

*Am I experiencing difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep?

*Am I sleeping too much?

*Am I feeling edgy or irritable all the time?

*Am I  eating too much or too little?

Emotional exhaustion can blindside us, as it shows up in different ways for everyone. The body is our most efficient alarm system and can signal to us when things are off-center, which is why it’s important to listen to it, and not only when we are experiencing actual physical pain.

These questions can help you check for some common signs that the body offers as alerts for emotional burnout.

Learning body awareness, as well as emotional and mental awareness, is an important tool to manage stress. The more you know yourself, your strengths and limitations, how you interact with others, what your triggers for conflict are -- the better you’ll get at preventing these.

We are unique individuals, and experience stress in different ways. What is stressful to one person, might be exciting for another!
